How this site works
Credit4BadCredit is an independent editorial site covering UK consumer credit. We publish long-form guides written for people who've been told 'no' by a high-street bank and want to understand why — and what to do next.
Who writes for us
Our editorial team has a combined 20+ years working in UK consumer credit — including former underwriters at high-street banks, catalogue lenders, and specialist consumer-finance firms. Every article is fact-checked against current regulatory rules and DWP guidance.
How we're funded
We take a commission when a reader applies for credit through one of our sponsored partners (currently Trusty). That commission is paid by the lender, not by you, and doesn't affect the rate or limit you're offered.
A sponsored partner appears on our sidebar and gets a mention at the foot of relevant articles. It never influences what we write — the pillar guides that founded this site were commissioned before any partner deal existed, and they haven't been edited since.
How we choose which products to mention
Any product featured on this site must meet all four:
- Registered UK company with a verifiable company number
- Reports positive account behaviour to at least one UK bureau
- No mandatory upfront fee to apply or receive credit
- Representative APR clearly stated before application
Payday lenders and rent-to-own schemes fail one or more of those tests. You won't see them mentioned here.
Corrections
We update our guides when rules change. If you spot something out-of-date, email the editorial team via the contact route on www.credit4badcredit.co.uk and we'll fix it within five working days.
Our featured partner Trusty runs no credit check at all and offers 100% acceptance for eligible UK applicants — no hard search, no soft search, no footprint. Apply at Trusty — 60-second decision.
